The cemetery located nearby is the Bailey family cemetery and is still used today. The view from 138 Greathouse Road includes a view of a working grain elevator owned by Purdue Farms, Inc. During harvest season you can see the tugboats bring in the empty barges then watch as they are filled with local grains and moved again by the tugs. Kinsale is on the Chesapeake Bay Wine trail with multiple wineries within just a couple of miles. Stratford Hall, home of the Lee family including General Robert E. Lee, is approximately 25 miles away and is a fun place to spend the day. They host multiple events open to the public. Westmoreland State Park is also about 25 miles away and is a wonderful place to swim, picnic and hike and the best part of all ~ hunting for sharks teeth and fossils that wash up on the beach. Nearby towns of Kilmarnock, Reedville, and Urbana are just a short drive and in addition to having great restaurants and shopping options, they host multiple festivals throughout the year with a focus on the incredible seafood that comes from this area. Crabs abound in the waters around Kinsale and many residents take daily trips out in their boats to crab for dinner! Come enjoy the best the Northern Neck has to offer!
